Conservation Minnesota Supports Youth-led Efforts to Combat Climate Change
The Star Tribune recently shared an article about youth-led efforts to combat climate change, and the Conservation Crew program at our new grantee-partner Conservation Minnesota received a mention.
As the article notes, Conservation Crew is “a statewide program that encourages middle-schoolers to design and implement conservation projects. The students started with a few ‘pie in the sky’ ideas… and learned how to identify a feasible solution that would benefit others.”
While helping the environment and their community, the students also learned personal lessons.
"They get that feeling that they are an important part of our world," their science teacher said. "That matters in the whole scheme of self-esteem, fitting in and leadership development at that age."
